Annick Richardson - Clarinet

I have been playing the clarinet for over 40 years and have a Bachelor of Music from the University of Victoria. I have taught privately for over 30 years and have performed in a variety of venues - all from being a soloist to intimate chamber groups to bands and orchestras.  I am currently playing chamber music with Ann Mendenhall and Joanne Cowan and am looking forward to working with these two fabulous musicians in the upcoming season. I think that it's important to be part of and share your time with your community, and with that in mind, I am a proud member of the Mill Bay community choir called Brenda's Brats, the Cowichan Valley Community Band as well as a member of a 'jazzy' quartet called 'Annick & the Lakeside Loungers' with my husband and two other friends.

Whether you are a beginner or an experienced player, I think that one-on-one time on your instrument will benefit you.  Beginning correctly with instructions and tips on a new instrument is an excellent way to get to enjoy the whole musical experience. The beginner may be having problems simply placing the reed onto the mouthpiece, where to place their hands, questions about 'all the extra keys', how to start to read music. These are all simple and basic start-up questions but it's never too late to fix the problems that arise.

I welcome students of any age and provide a special introductory set of lessons.   Please contact me at annick6954@gmail.com or at 250-748-2802. Lessons take place in my home studio in downtown Duncan.
