Christine is a very experienced and successful piano teacher both with students who prefer to follow the Royal Conservatory curriculum and those who want to develop their piano skills using other musical genres.

Her Music and Education Degrees are from the University of Toronto.  She went from there to teach High School music in Ontario, and then Elementary and Secondary School Music in Alberta.  After her children were born, she built a vigorous piano teaching studio for 17 years in Airdrie, Alberta.

Since coming to the Cowichan Valley three years ago, she has developed a piano teaching studio in her home, as well as serving as Organist and Choir Director at St. Michaels in Chemainis, accompanying eurythmy classes at the Sunrise Waldorf School, and Director of “Encore!”, a new auditioned women’s choir in Duncan.  This past year she was the Musical Director of the Cowichan Music Society’s 2008 Revue, “Broadway Idol”.

Christine’s studio is located right in Duncan on Coronation Ave., close to Trunk Road. She welcomes children and adults, beginner through advanced levels.

Her philosophy:  Music should be fun!
Piano is an individual activity, the music you play can be geared to suit your musical aspirations. With proper supervision, a person can learn to play well using various styles, whether it is “classical” or much lighter music.

Whether child or adult, with the right encouragement, and lots of “how to” tips, it is possible to enjoy playing while making progress on a keyboard.
